By using Holadrive, you entrust us with your personal information, and we are dedicated to maintaining that trust. This begins with ensuring you understand our privacy practices.

This notice explains the personal information (“data”) we collect, how we use and share it, and the options available to you regarding your data. We encourage you to read this along with our privacy overview, which highlights key details about our privacy practices and summarizes the data we collect and how it is used.

2. Overview

Scope

This notice applies to Holadrive users worldwide who access our apps, websites, and other services. It explains how Holadrive and its affiliates collect and use data and is relevant to all Holadrive users globally, except for those using a service governed by a different privacy notice. Specifically, this notice covers:

Riders: individuals who request or use transportation and related services through their HolaDrive account, including package delivery and return services via HolaDrive Delivery.

Drivers: individuals who offer transportation services to Riders through their Holadrive account or partner transportation companies.

Order recipients: individuals who request or receive food, products, or services for delivery or pickup using their Holadrive account. This includes users who utilize guest checkout features to access delivery or pickup services without creating or logging into an account.

Delivery persons: individuals who provide delivery services through Holadrive Food.

Guest users: individuals without a Holadrive account who receive ride or delivery services ordered by other Holadrive account holders.

Borrowers: individuals who borrow vehicles from Owners via HoladriveShare.

Holadrive Platform: This includes the contact information of individuals who manage or use accounts owned by Enterprise Customers, as well as data from individuals who begin but do not complete applications to become drivers or delivery persons.

All individuals covered by this notice are collectively referred to as “users.”

Our privacy practices comply with the applicable laws in the countries and regions where we operate. Therefore, the practices described in this notice are carried out in a specific country or region only if allowed by the local laws.

Owners: individuals who make their vehicles available for others to borrow through HolaDriveShare.

This notice also covers other data collected by HolaDrive in connection with its services. For instance, we may collect contact information from the owners or employees of restaurants or merchants on the HolaDrive platform.

3. Data collections and uses

At Holadrive, we collect data from:

Data provided by users to us

Account information: We collect data when users create or update their Holadrive accounts or place orders using guest checkout. This includes first and last names, email addresses, phone numbers, login credentials, addresses, profile pictures, payment or banking details (including related verification), user settings (such as accessibility preferences), and loyalty program information for Holadrive partners.
 
For drivers and delivery persons, this also includes vehicle or insurance information, emergency contacts, and documentation of health or fitness to provide services via Holadrive apps.
 
Background check information (for drivers and delivery persons): This includes details submitted during the application process, such as driving history, criminal records (where permitted by law), license status, known aliases, past addresses, and right-to-work verification. HolaDrive may collect this information through service providers.
 
Identity verification documents and photos: We collect government-issued identification, such as driver’s licenses or passports (including ID numbers, photos, date of birth, and gender), as well as user-submitted images like selfies and profile photos.
 
Demographic data: We gather demographic details, including birth date/age, gender, or occupation when needed to enable certain features or grant access to age-restricted products or services. For instance, we verify users’ birth dates or ages to confirm eligibility for Holadrive Cash or when purchasing alcohol. We may also collect or infer gender from first names to allow female or non-binary users to specify preferences for services provided or received, and for marketing purposes.
 
We may also gather demographic information, such as age groups and household composition, through user surveys.
 
User content: We collect data such as chat logs and call recordings when users contact Holadrive customer support, provide feedback on other users, restaurants, or merchants, upload content, or submit recordings (including in-app audio or dashboard camera recordings), or otherwise communicate with Holadrive.

Travel information: We collect travel itinerary details, including the dates and times of upcoming flights, lodging, or car rentals, from users of the Holadrive Travel feature. This information is collected when users manually enter it into their Holadrive Travel itinerary.
 
Data generated during the use of our services: This includes: 
Location data (drivers and delivery persons): We collect precise or approximate location data from drivers’ and delivery persons’ mobile devices when the Holadrive app is running, whether in the foreground (app open and on-screen) or background (app open but not on-screen).
 
Location data (riders and order recipients): We collect precise or approximate location information from riders’ and order recipients’ mobile devices if they grant permission through their device settings. HolaDrive collects this data from the time a ride or order is requested until it is completed, and whenever the app is running in the foreground. For more on enabling precise location data collection, see “Choice and Transparency” below.
 
Riders and order recipients can use the Holadrive app without enabling location data collection. However, this may limit certain features; for example, riders who do not enable precise location data will need to manually enter their pickup address.
 
Additionally, location data collected from a driver’s device during a trip is linked to the rider’s account, even if the rider has not enabled precise location data collection. This data is used for purposes such as customer support, fraud detection, insurance, litigation, and receipt generation.
 
Transaction information: We collect details related to the use of our services, including the type of service requested or provided, trip or order details (such as date, time, pickup and drop-off locations, distance traveled, and items ordered), and payment information (including restaurant or merchant name, amount charged, and payment method). We also associate a user’s name with anyone who uses their promotion code.
This also includes information provided by users when placing orders, such as allergy details.
 
Usage data: We collect information on how users interact with our services, including access dates and times, features or pages viewed, browser type, and app crashes or other system activity.
 
Device data: We gather data about the devices used to access our services, such as hardware models, device IP addresses or unique identifiers, operating systems and versions, software, preferred languages, advertising identifiers, device motion data, and mobile network information.
 
Communications data: We collect details about communications between users facilitated through Holadrive’s apps, including communication type (phone, text, or in-app message), date/time, and content (including call recordings, when users are notified of the recording in advance).
 
Data from other sources: This includes information from:
Users participating in referral programs: When a user refers someone else, we receive data about the referred person from the referring user.
Holadrive account holders requesting services for others: This includes individuals requesting services on behalf of friends or family, or enabling others to request or receive services through business accounts (such as Enterprise Customers).
Users or other individuals providing information related to claims or disputes.
Holadrive business partners: These include payment providers, social media services, or apps and websites that use Holadrive’s APIs or whose APIs Holadrive uses, through which users create or access their accounts.
HolaDrive business partners connected with co-branded debit or credit cards: Information is shared in accordance with the card’s terms and conditions.
Service providers: They assist us in verifying identity, background information, work eligibility, detecting fraud, and screening users for sanctions, anti-money laundering, or know-your-customer requirements.
Insurance, vehicle, or financial service providers for drivers and delivery persons.
Partner transportation companies for drivers or delivery persons using services through a company-associated account.
Publicly available sources.
Marketing partners and service providers, including banks participating in cash-back programs and data resellers.
Law enforcement, public health officials, and other government authorities.

4. How we use our data

Holadrive uses data to provide reliable and convenient transportation, delivery, and other services. Additionally, we use data for the following purposes:
